Rockstar Games has officially announced GTA 6: The Album, a 34-track original soundtrack released in partnership with Atlantic Records. The album drops the same day as the game — November 19, 2026 — and promises to capture, in Rockstar’s own words, “the electric energy of Vice City and Leonida.”

A genre-spanning artist lineup
Six tracks are already available to stream ahead of the full release: Yung Lean (featuring Future and Metro Boomin), Travis Scott (produced by Daft Punk’s Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo), the group CA7RIEL & Paco Amoroso alongside PinkPantheress, Fred again.., and Etienne de Crécy, Morgan Wallen, Rauw Alejandro, and even Keith Richards of the Rolling Stones. The genre mix — country, electronic, reggaeton, hip-hop, classic rock — is a taste of what Rockstar is billing as a “genre-defying” album.

The irony fans couldn’t ignore
The announcement sparked immediate debate online: the soundtrack is getting vinyl and CD releases, while the game itself — so far — only has confirmed digital distribution. Comments like “the irony to release this on disc but not the game itself” quickly went viral. The most likely explanation behind Rockstar’s decision isn’t a lack of commercial interest, but an anti-piracy measure — avoiding a physical disc that could be copied or leak story spoilers ahead of launch, a precaution that makes even more sense after the recent saga around the “Cyberleek” leaker.
What about the in-game radio?
Buried at the end of the album announcement, Rockstar left a hook for what’s coming next: the company asked fans to “stay tuned for more details about the music of Grand Theft Auto VI, including the dynamic score, the next evolution of in-game radio, and more.” For now, there are no concrete details on how this system will work — just confirmation that it’s coming, and that it will be treated as something separate from the album’s licensed soundtrack.
